BJ had his first eye appointment since he came home. We chose to see a new eye doctor. In fact we have moved from Optometrist to Ophthalmologist, and soon we will be moving on to a Pediatric Glaucoma Specialist and the Emory Low Vision Clinic. At his recent appointment with Dr. V, we learned that BJ has a birth defect that is affecting his eyesight. At this time there is nothing that can be done to fix it surgically. Our goal is to find ways to help BJ learn to read and function without the use of one of his eyes, while preserving the poor eyesight in his other eye.
