Never Too Old to Hang With Mom

Somewhere over the years my older children have gone from being my children to being my closest friends. I love investing time with them, whether traveling to appointments, watching them as they become more independent or the long chats we have...often late at night when they arrive home from work.

People will often ask how can I possibly find time to invest with each of my 15 children. Well the answer is simple...we make time!

This week Rachel and I attended a training class together. We are enjoying the time we are learning how to better minister to ladies in our community.

Josiah and I traveled to Atlanta to meet with his surgeon for his hand. While many hate sitting at doctors offices, driving an hour and half to get there and an hour and half home...I love the time we can invest laughing and talking about life. It is an adventure at times and of course we always get lunch!

Andrew and I invested an afternoon with Jonathan having lunch, talking and playing miniature golf...wow did that game get a little competitive. We had fun even though it was super hot that day!

The whole family was able to attend Jordan's football game recently at the high school stadium. I don't know who had the most fun...the kids or the adults. Jordan played for the fire department team against the sheriff's department. We cheered and of course we won!

Rebekah and I are working together on  several animal projects...pigs, cows, chickens and of course the guide dog we are picking up soon.

Just like any friendship our friendships with our children must be cultivated.
