Yesterday was the 4th of July and we enjoyed the day as we celebrated the birthday of our country. We started the day off with a local parade in Demorest, Georgia.
Josiah and I took the kids to the parade. It was warm out, but thankfully there was enough shade to keep Solomon out of the sun! Micah enjoyed the fire trucks and police cars. The other kids enjoyed the candy.
Rachel and Jonathan missed our celebration as they are on a missions trip in Haiti this week. Jordan and Rebekah were going to meet us at the parade until Jordan got a Search and Rescue call to respond to. Andrew stayed home to make an amazing lunch for us!
After the parade we headed home for a yummy lunch with my in-laws. We had delicious burgers (handmade by hubby), salads, homemade beans and watermelon.
The afternoon was relaxing. We watched a movie, little ones napped and Rebekah made very yummy inside-out cherry and blueberry turnovers for us and chocolate dipped oreos for the firefighters at station 5.
After dinner we headed into town again to find a good spot for the fireworks. Jordan and Josiah were at station 5 to help Demorest during the fireworks. Thankfully there were no fires! Demorest put on the best firework show we have ever seen and Solomon loved the bright lights!
