Today was the pick up day for our co-op order! It's always exciting, this time each year, when the girls and I sit down and take inventory of our grains, beans, dehydrated veggies and mixes and prepare our order for the annual Walton Feed co-op in our area. We have been a part of this particular group for many years and are so very thankful for the diligent and selfless work of so many ladies that put it all together. We all get excited when the email comes that our shipment has left Idaho and is headed to the south east.
When we left this morning we had no idea the plans God had for us. Upon entering the freeway this morning we hit terrible traffic. There were several bad accidents. We arrived later than planned at the co-op pick up location. When we arrived we were able to see many of our dear friends that we only see on occasion. After sharing the news, and passing baby Titus to my dear friend Susan, we began to look for our order.
Let me back up a bit. Andrew's parents had ordered with us this year. Recently they asked if we could order them a bit more rolled oats, but unfortunately our order had already been placed and shipped. I called Whole Foods on my way this morning to see if I could get a couple bags of rolled oats at a bulk discount. The oats had gone up in price and would be almost $100 a bag. I went on to pick up the co-op order and planned to stop at Whole Foods on the way home, as this price is still better than the grocery store.

Back to the co-op pickup...When we arrived a friend of mine mentioned that there was a few products that were extras someone didn't want and were available for purchase. Had I arrived earlier I may have been in the middle of the accidents on the freeway, but had I arrived later I may have missed the great deals. There were only about 10-12 bags on the ground, out of tens of thousands of pounds in the total order. Can you imagine my surprise when I came across the two bags of rolled oats I needed for my in-laws? The children and I immediately gave the praise to the Lord for His goodness. Not only did I not have to go to two stores, but I was able to get the oats at about a third of the price, per bag!
I love the fact that God is interested in even the little details in life. He loves to bless us! After our pickup we stopped for lunch while waiting to make another pick up in town. After we ate the restaurant owner came to ask if he could give a case of frisbees to my children. The restaurant doesn't use them in the children's meals anymore, and the owner wanted to get rid of them. So we also came home today with over 30 new frisbees! The children and the dogs were thrilled. Thank you Moe's Southwest Grill in Hiram, Georgia.

What small blessings have you encountered today?
